Reviewing Australian Blogs on Australia Day

I love a sunburnt country, a land of many blogs, of wide brown RSS feeds….. although Dorothy McKellar may turn in her grave, Australians are slowly starting to catch up to the rest of the civilised world in the blogosphere and this Australia Day we take a quick look at some key Australian blogs and blogging sites!

Anthony J Hicks Aussie Weblogs
Type blogs Australia into Google and you’ll get Anthony at No.1 Aussie Weblogs provides the best list we can find of Australian weblogs, although it is by no means a definitive list. It suffered greatly when Anthony left our shores recently to try his luck overseas, however seems to be up and running again now, and if your willing and able you can even help Anthony run the site.

Keks 2004 Australian Weblog Awards
It was only a matter of time until someone set up an Australian version of the bloggies, and whilst we only discovered the site by accident, there is a reasonable cross-section of nominees for the awards highlighting some Australian blogging talent

Tim Blair
Tim Blair is arguably Australia’s best known blogger outside Australia. He is read and linked by blogosphere royalty and writes predominately on US and UK issues. A sort of Mel Gibson of the blogging world, raised Australian but sounds American, but always produces pretty good stuff.

Dog fight at Bankstown
Dog fight gets a mention as it just keeps getting better with age, and they are one of the few Australian blogs to recognise the Blog Herald as Australian. A great read for those looking for something a little different from the blogging norm.

Also thanks for the “Herald,” great design and great reading. So good in fact I have Blogrolled it and placed your RSS feed as a headline section on my Blog.
