After much speculation following the discovery of a test site at www.google.com/blog/ , Google has launched an official blog to coincide with the Blogger relaunch at www.google.com/googleblog/. Subtitled “Insight into the news, technology, and culture of Google” the blog promises to give readers “the latest word direct from the Googleplex about new technology, hot issues, and the wide world of search”. The first posting is from Evan Williams, the PyraLabs founder who currently goes under the title “Blogger Program Manager, Google”, with the second post unknown. If Evan is involved regularly it should be a good read but it is early days yet.
Most likely to the upmost annoyance of blog god Dave Winer, the site only offers an atom feed.
