Government warns Malaysian blogger over comments

The Star Online is reporting a Berita Minggu story that the Malaysian Deputy Minister for Interior Security Datuk Noh Omar has spoken out against an unamed blogger in relation to comments on a Malaysion blog in relation to Islam.

The same article quotes the ruling party Umno’s Youth deputy chief Khairy Jamaluddin as saying that the blog owner should take responsibility even though he had not posted the derogatory remarks and should apologise.

    yes i think Ooi is morally responsible and owe an apology to the public at large and muslims in particular. how would christians react if someone were to comment in public jesus was a bastard for he had no biological father and then quickly hide under the cover of free speech?
    This is the fault of democracy …everything goes in the name of free speech. Prof Hamka once said freedom without responsibility can bring about destruction.
    And without some kind of control there can be no real freedom…the freedom not to hear insults and vulgarity.
    The freedom to read the stories in the media loudly to your child without having to skip some words because some editors think four letter words are okay if they are quoting someone.
