CBS has gone on the attack following Rathergate and being beaten to the show by a number of high profile bloggers during the election by rolling out retired CBS hack Eric Engberg, friend and former co-worker of Dan Rather to attack bloggers and blogging in general.

In the attack piece on the CBS News website, Enberg compares blogging to CB Radio and School Newspapers, calls blogging posts “pretend news” and finishes in stating “the chances of the bloggers replacing mainstream journalism are about as good as the parasite replacing the dog it fastens on.”
