Should bloggers post a blog disclosure statement?

  • This is an excellent question to pose – and one that needs careful consideration.
Nowadays we live in a world where we’re actively discouraged from taking responsibility for our actions and reactions – think blame culture, think nanny state.
And where every day people sue and are sued…therefore it’s almost imperative to post a disclaimer if you express any form of opinion via your blog surely?
Or should we buck the trend and put ourselves out there and openly vocalise what we believe in?
    I’ve placed my vote…

  • yes, we should take responsibility for sharing any opinion, statement, attitude or demeanor per any consequences realized unless we communicate disclaimers for them.. like walking around with disclaimers posted to our foreheads.

  • the ethics that a blog admin wants and the screening processes it has for that puurpose is entirely up to the admin. we can talk about a blog ethics group, but who cares unless it can be verified.. and that means it costs money.. and a means of prosecuting market criminals. I don’t think it’s likely our agencies (newly derived or not) will effectivley police this.. and in my mind that makes the founders of the schema themselves the criminals.. taking money for nothing. blogs can post their screening processes if they like.
