The Anthony J Hicks run Australian Weblogs has closed according to a post on the site. The service, by far the largest Australian site of its type, has served the Australian blogosphere for over 3 years, providing a webring (of which the Blog Herald is a member), directory service and update service.

Anthony posts: “Keeping the site running through solving technical issues, programming new updates to the detection routines and answering enquiry emails has been a time consuming process, and in 2005 I really feel my time could be better spent on other pursuits.”

Whilsts offering URL and Webring, he indicates that he is unwilling to sell the script for the service, meaning a definate end in its current form.
