In a sure sign that Yahoo! is serious in its efforts to assert a strong presence in the blogosphere, Blo.gs owner (or now former owner) Jim Winstead has announced that the directory of recently updated blogs has been sold to Yahoo! for an undisclosed sum.

Winstead writes on the deal:

“this is the sort of good home that i was looking for — yahoo! obviously has the resources to run and improve blo.gs in pace with the incredible growth of blogs (and syndication in general), and in talking with them it was also clear that we had some of the same vision for the future of the service and the ping/notification infrastructure.”

Flickr for pictures, Blo.gs for the tracking, then onwards…..perhaps to Six Apart. It would, after all the be perfect match.
