Calacanis offers $10k for Technorati Top 100 killer

Weblog Inc’s Jason Calacanis has an offer for bloggers with scirpting skills: author a page that provides a Top 500 list of bloggers based on links over the last 12 months, that also indicates up and comers as well, and he’ll give the site $50,000 in free advertising, or set it up for Weblogs Inc., to run, he’ll give you $10,000 in cold, hard cash.     What is the point of this offer? I keep hearing about the battle for Technorati killers and yet I can’t even figure out why the REAL Technorati exists at all.

    Jason’s main point here is that the Top 100 at Technorati favors bloggers who have been around for a long time as opposed to the actual people who are now influencing debate and leading in content provision. Basically, I think he’s right, although I’m not supportive of some other people who are attacking the A-List based on the fact it is dominated by men.
