Blogs top the list of most desired item in Japan: survey

A survey from Japanese advertising firm Dentsu has found that blogs topped the list of the 10 most popular items desired by consumers in Japan during the first half of 2005.

The study of 1,000 people from 15 to 69 years asked the preferences of 150 products.

Blog beat the movie Star Wars Episode III, Revenge of the Sith and flat-screen television sets, which came secnod and third respectively in the study.

    Blogs aren’t consumables, though. You can’t “buy” a blog and play with it–it’s like saying that “personal journals” are high on the list. And since most blog software is free, it’s not a marketable item…

    Yes, just as Elliott put it. I get really surprised every time when see such a news that either does not have any sense or, if it exists, it is not made clear.

    You may or may not be interested in this site that my wife and I just launched (about 3 days ago actually!) but hopefully you have the time to check it out and maybe even help us spread the word.

    It’s intended to be a fun novelty page for bloggers and podcasters, We think it has huge potential and it is a bit of an experiment but we think it could really take off!
