Nice set of tangents Duncan. Couldn’t get enough tickets so you had be the martyr and miss out – and so you had to have second best and hop on over to the gambling tables, ha! Geez, you’re stretching it there ;-)

I pretty much do as you do with the Money Wheel at Crown Casino in Melbourne – play it safe, but it gets pretty hard after a few drinks … forget the “software” machines – if you can’t see the odds then trust no one in the casino game.

Ah, The Wiggles lasted about a month or so for us – now my 4 year old is a Hi-5 fanatic.

Jim, you would think that all us Aussies would cringe and start hating the Wiggles … but no, they’re quite popular here still.

I have a friend who just moved to Mandurah, I bet she knows that road, I must ask her. Luckily, the Wiggles were a short-term frenzy in my household, mainly due to my having the cable disconnected. They seem alright I suppose, but we are trained to be suspicious of grown men wearing bright colors and dancing about trying to lure children. Although, I was partial to Jeff, thought he would do okay if someone just gave him a nice hot bowl of soup.

I had to come post again. There now seems to be an audio tape in my house (not sure when it arrived)….and currently from the CD player is a song about fruit salad,…..with the chorus of “yummy yummy”. …..AHHHHHHHH, I think the Wiggles are part of some conspiracy to take over the earth. Like the Borg….Resistance if futile.

Duncan….On second thought….I would take the wiggles over Barney the purple dinasour (which began in my own Texas….so I cannot blame anyone else). My older kid went through that Barney stage and that was torture.

I thought the Wiggles in Australia were hated. All my Aussie friends in Cleveland tell me that at least.

But I’m with you, I saw them here last year with my 3-year-old. Good clean show and lots of fun.

I’ve got to say I laughed my head off when I heard a story on radio in the last week where American parents were complaining that their kids were talking with Australian accents due to the Wiggles and that it was somehow evil, from a country that dominates the world media and where nearly every cartoon my son watches involves American accents! :-)
Its about getting some of our own back! :-)

Although I must admit my 3 yeat old is heavily into Postman Pat at the moment as well and he singings the song with a heavy northern English accent…you should here him say “Greendale Rocket”.

“The Wiggles are a proven act in the tot scene” and “I couldnâ€™t get enough tickets to see the Wiggles myself”. How often I’ve used that excuse to avoid “tot” extravaganzas. It says a lot for our better halves that they put up with us. Good post. :-)

Hot potato … hot potato …. We saw the wiggles when they came stateside a few years ago, had an outrageously difficult time getting 4 tickets. I do have to say they put on a great show, we even got a picture with Murray wiggle ….

THE WIGGLES…yes, my three-year-old makes me play the DVD daily, often multiple time. They drive me crazy (but you have to give credit to four goofy grown men who figure out how to make millions of dollars by singing to kids). I like Austraila, but I think you exported the Wiggles to the US to get even with us for something. I appologize for Gillian’s Island…..now make them stop!!!!
