Calacanis declares war on Pijama’s Media: battle of the nightwear advertising networks

Jason Calacanis from Weblogs Inc., has posted more about the proposed jointed blog advertising network between Weblogs Inc., Gawker Media and Federated Media (which includes sites such as Boing Boing) here, in a proposal that sounds eerily similar to the model proposed by Pijama’s Media, which I’ve now officially dubbed: the battle of the nightwear advertising networks. Now if only Calacanis would name the new network: frilly teddy blog advertising network I’d know who I would be siding with :-)

Calacanis just doesn’t get it. He’s part of AOL. There is no more Weblogs inc. Just another property at AOL. Advertisers don’t care about him teaming up with anybody. It’s just another part of AOL. Which means not cool at all.

Mo, tell that to the millions of teens using their sites, services, and IM client. I don’t like AOL either, but they do have a following.
