Geez, I thought this was a fine way to reach out to users, and it demonstrates some trust in us, as well. I chose 30 days.

Yes, it’s been a major irritant, and I’m sure that anyone running a business site is seriously bothered by these problems. But for a personal blogger, who does not want to host her own site, there is still no competition.

I wasn’t particularly affected, and I chose the 15 days of free service. I thought it was very open and innovative to communicate this way. Probably saved them a lot of time and $$$ having to deal with assessing how to compensate every customer.

I’m not sure what the problem is. Everybody was complaining about not being compensated for the lousy TypePad service of late and now they will be and they get a choice. It seems as if Six Apart are damned if they do and damned if they don’t these days. As a Typepad user all I want to know is when things will run smoothly. The compensation, while important will not be the deciding factor for me as I continue to weigh the alternatives. At least they are doing something and letting their users know about it.
