Rumor that Nick Douglas to write Silicon Valley blog for Gawker Media

It smells fishy, and it probably is, but Blog Soup and JOAB are reporting that Blogebrity writer Nick Douglas is moving to California to write a new blog for Gawker Media based on the Silicon Valley tech scene. Apparently its because he’s not being paid enough to write Blogebrity. If it is true, congrats to Nick 1 and Nick 2. Given the general gossip-trash tone of Blogebrity I’d think Nick 2 would fit in really well at Gawker.

This story actually isn’t fishy. It’s the real deal. Nicky Doug was bragging away to me about a few weeks ago. He made me swear not to tell but said he was changing editorial policy to reflect his future move.

And just to be factual, I did not report…”that Blogebrity writer Nick Douglas is moving to California to write a new blog for Gawker Media based on the Silicon Valley tech scene.” I wrote that Gawker Media is launching a new blog. And that Nick Douglas was tapped to lead.

I made no mention of anybody moving anywhere.

The later mentioned part I came up with on my own.
