North Central Massachusetts blogs on the rise

I kid you not, this is a serious story…for people who live in North Central Massachusetts, as opposed to South Central or West Central or South Park Massachusetts.

Writes the Sentinel and Enterprise:

“A handful of blogs are springing up that focus on local issues in North Central Massachusetts, ranging from potholes to overrides.

Blogs — a type of Web-based journal — are a method of self-publishing that have grown rapidly among Web-savvy people seeking a public voice. “

I am not surprised that local blogs are popping up. I run a blog about my home town of Frederick, MD and it does pretty well.

The only drawback is that if you don’t live in Frederick the content will be really boring for you. So your loyal audiance is limited to the population of the city or county you blog about. Local blogs are truly a niche market.
