January 12, 2006 | By Duncan | Filed Under News

A new Melbourne-based company, Feedcorp, is set to launch the first Australian blog search engine, dubbed “Gnoos” in February.

ZDNet reports
that the company plans to provide an Australian based alternative to services such as Technorati and Google Blog Search

“When we launch late February, you’ll be able to read the latest posts from thousands of Aussie blogs, and then subscribe to your favourites,” the company’s founder Ben Barren told ZDNet Australia.

Interestingly, Barren estimates there are now 750,000 Australian blogs.
