Gawker Media’s Nick Denton has been named as Those Bastard’s next Bastard of the Blogs:

We’re going to call Nick Denton a smart guy. He’s started three fairly successful companies, Moreover, First Tuesday and Gawker Media. So why is he a bastard? It’s the way he’s doing it. He’s the new John D. Rockefeller, running his empire with a ruthlessness that would make robber barons proud. Demanding incredible amounts of editorial material from underpaid writers while lopping off unprofitable titles at the drop of a hat shows that the New Economy isn’t so new.

That may be a bit harsh, but at least it’s funny…
