LAPD Blog engages citizens and police leadership

The LAPD Blog, hosted over at Typepad, appears to be achieving its goal of improving communication between police and the citizens of LA.

Just take a look at this entry, which shows a debate in the comments between several citizens, anonymous officers, and the Deputy Chief of the Department.

    Wow — that’s just fabulous. You would think that an organization like the LAPD would shy away from controversy, but instead, they’ve embraced it.

    And by doing so, they gain a measure of control and respect from their constituents.
