MySpace blogger questioned by secret service

Filed as News on October 14, 2006 2:22 pm

An eighth grader in Sacramento, California was interviewed by the Secret Service over threatening postings made about President Bush on MySpace, according to MSNBC:

The 14-year-old freshman was taken out of class Wednesday and questioned for about 15 minutes by two Secret Service agents. The incident has upset her parents, who said the agents should have included them when they questioned their daughter.

Her mother goes on to rail against the fact that agents did not wait until after school to interview her daughter and that she should have been present when her daughter was being questioned.

The MySpace connection is of less importance in this story than the simple fact that this blogger chose to threaten the President of the United States, but because of the MySpace connection, this story is on the front page of MSNBC’s website this morning.
