Six Apart to further beef LiveJournal in Russia

Filed as News on October 20, 2006 3:20 am

Six Apart, the owners of LiveJournal and creators of Movable Type, recently announced a partnership with Russian online media company SUP. The aim is to further localize the LiveJournal service in Russia, where it apparently is the market leader with over 4.4 million monthly visitors to the site. The press releases stresses, however, that this isn’t a step towards cutting the Russian parts out of the LiveJournal community which is a good thing I guess.

Did you know that the LiveJournal software is opensource by the way?
