The Blogger Scholarships

There’s a group giving away a $5,000 scholarship to a blogger.

The finalists have been chosen and can be voted on over here.

My recommendation is Paul Stamatiou, a Georgia Tech student and 9rules member whose blog I read daily. I don’t know any of the other candidates - I’m sure they are all fine people as well.

Thanks for the recommendation Matt! I’m going to need all the help I can get. One of the other bloggers was able to get a recommendation on the front of dailykos.com, so he’s wayy in the lead.

Twitter Outage Used to do Upgrades, New Design Being Tested

Twitter experienced an unplanned outage, and is down and out for maintenance. They are using this outage to upgrade the affected database, according to a blog post. The service is still down, but hopefully we’ll be getting our microblogging cravings satisfied soon.

Pownce App Updates

Microblogging service Pownce have updated their Pownce Desktop app to 2.0, which means you’ll get embedded media, notification alerts, friend management, and more. Pownce Desktop 2.0 is in alpha, and free to download.
The Pownce developers have also made an iPhone and iPod touch version available from the iTunes App store. Free, of course.
