What’s happening with Livejournal today?

A reader hit our tipline with this note about Livejournal:

Livejournal announced that they would be doing a two hour back up on their system that would end at midnight (PST). It is now 8:00 (PST) and Livejournal is still down, inaccessable and no update or word has come from them.

Word from other systems is that they may have (again) crashed their power servers.

Any word from anyone in the know?
