Canada joins web conversation with mesh
People are talking about the web everywhere. In Geneva there’s LIFT, Paris has Les Blogs, New York boasts of BlogOn, and so on and so forth. Canada will also have one on May 30 and 31st this year called mesh (Canada’s web conference). It “officially” makes Canada part of the Web 2.0 converation.
The conference was founded by Mark Evans, Mathew Ingram, Mike McDerment, Rob Hyndman, and Stuart MacDonald. Obviously, what bonded them together was their enthusiasm for the web and all the next-generation things happening around.
Joining these founders on May 30 are: Richard Edelman (Edelman), Jim Buckmaster (Craigslist), Michael Arrington (TechCrunch), Tom Williams (Givemeaning.com), and Austin Hill (Project Ojibwe).

To be fair, they started last year, with Om Malik and and Steve Reubel amongst other keynotes — neither of whom are chopped liver by any means! :)
This year should be a doozy though … for all those interested in making the trip up (or native Torontonians, as I am) you should be aware that Mesh is offering a post-secondary school discount.
If you register before March 29, the price is $399 for regular folk; for starving students, its the low, low, price of $25 — and you really can’t get any fairer than that. However, there are only 30 of said “student priced” tickets, so if you have any inclination, I wouldn’t hesitate to pick one or two of them up.
Lastly, for those interested, I will be showing up in some form or another — and I’d love to meet some / any of you if you happen to be around.
