I've started the slow and manual process of rearranging my categories but my biggest problem is that there are many links to quite a lot of the posts from other sites. Wouldn't changing the category mean these inbound links (back links) to posts simply go to error 404 page? Many posts have also been bookmarked on various sites so would the bookmark backlink also go to error 404. If so.. then should I be using 301 redirect and reposting the whole post into new category and redirecting the original post to it. Any ideas what to do for the best? Many thanks for these posts.
