I'd avoid automatically pinging pingomatic too since it shoots out the pings to all of those services as well (at least I think it's all three). As long as you avoid those three and relying on any automated pinging service, you should be ok! Though I understand well the struggle for more traffic, I think I speak for most bloggers when I say that most of my new traffic comes from Google. There's not much point in pinging out to Weblogs if only a few sites bring you almost all of your traffic. However, that is just my opinion, different sites will have different needs.
