Darren Rowse, ProBlogger, offers $54,000 prizes in Birthday Bash competitions

Filed as News on October 1, 2007 4:35 pm

Though we don’t report on every giveaway or competition run by bloggers, this has to be one of the biggest I’ve heard about for quite some time. For those of you who don’t read ProBlogger Darren Rowse, he’s celebrating his blog’s third birthday with a huge $54k prize giveaway.

Only those with Darren’s kind of influence and readership can hope to attract such an amazing amount of prizes from sponsors. In return, of course, the 115+ sponsors get plenty of exposure on a blog with tens of thousands of readers and RSS feed subscribers.

Darren writes:

Prizes range from getting theme songs composed for podcasts/videos, to iPods, to logo designs, to magazine subscriptions, to books, to cash and vouchers and so much more. Prizes values range from just a few dollars in value to thousands of dollars.

Of course, it’s great link bait as well, though I think here everyone benefits from it: Darren may well get more readers, the sponsors get more exposure, the winners get some decent prizes (we’ll find out tomorrow what they are), and even those who don’t win get to participate in some fun competitions and enjoy the community.
