My first anniversary is just four days away. You probably know how nice feeling is that. What I am going to do about that? I am not sure yet. One post to mark a milestone, another on a blog about blogging to recapitulate and see what have I learned in the past year. Maybe some giveaway. Maybe a party in second life….

@Solo Business Marketing: The blogger incurs all expenses, including purchasing items to giveaway if they can't find donations. The idea is to work with fellow bloggers, podcasters, and businesses to get them to donate product. Smashing Magazine's big giveaway of books were books they were sent to review for the magazine, I believe, so they gave them all away after the review was published as part of the anniversary contest. These can become great community networking building events, inviting pros to offer their wares to promote them and your blog. However, they want to work with those who already have some traffic and niche blogging expertise established to maximize the benefits for all parties involved.

I’ve not thought about anniversary events for my blogs, but it’s a great idea.

How does one accumulate all of the prizes given away for the anniversary, and how are the physical items sent to winners who live in a country outside of the blogger’s?

Does the blogger simply incur and shipping expense?
