Stil trying to find a method that works for me to keep track of things “on the spot”. Think I’ll re-visit the digital voice recorder angle.

As for handling them once I get back in front of my computer I use Microsoft One Note. Great program and not too expensive if you buy the student teacher edition. There is also an extension that allows you to save items from the web (IE Explorer only) and Outlook directly to One Note.

One of the basic tools i use is my moleskine notebook and a .txt file for keeping up with things that pop into my head.

Videoblogging is also becoming something fun – I was looking at the Flip Video Camera, which is pretty compact. That might also be helpful in grabbing on the spot interviews, you would have the visual and audio all in one.

I carry around my lab notebook and whenever inspiration hits, I write it down. This is excellent when, for example, I’m waiting for my kids to finish Karate – I wrote the essence of ‘What Beginners Karate Taught Me About Blogging’ and ‘Infuse your post with a Blog Butterfly’ during once such lesson.
