This week’s issue of the WordPress Wednesday News is going to be a special edition featuring the recent WordPress 2.4 release, and in the next day or so, I’ll summarize the fantastic news coming from from WordCamp Dallas.
WordPress News
WordPress 2.5 Released: Just before Matt Mullenweg walked upon the stage of WordCamp Dallas Saturday morning, WordPress 2.5 was released to the world after weeks of extensive beta testing.
So far, the reports have been overwhelmingly positive. Reports from the WordPress Support Forums are that while there are a few glitches, the majority of problems people are having with the installation come from their own mistakes, Administration Panel menu based WordPress Plugins, and problems with their customization and tweaking of their WordPress blog and Theme. Few problems have been found directly related to WordPress 2.5 during the upgrade and installation process.
In Peter Westwood’s article on the details of WordPress 2.5 development, he cites that it took 185 days for development, changes to 364 files, patches from over 110 different contributors, and over 1300 individual changes.
WordPress Development published a WordPress 2.5 Screencast Preview just prior to the official release, showing you the new features and improvements.

I actually started to dive straight into this topic close to 2003, and got disturbing experiences back then, wasting a lot of time for nothing. I stopped when I did not comprehend much about it making myself buried with other things. Now I am back. Your blog post is a great motivation to me and I will probably let my older brother know about this.

I have to show appreciation to the writer for bailing me out of this type of challenge. Because of looking out through the online world and meeting things which were not helpful, I was thinking my life was well over. Living devoid of the approaches to the issues you have solved by means of your main report is a serious case, and the kind that would have in a negative way damaged my entire career if I hadn’t noticed your web site. Your own personal know-how and kindness in dealing with a lot of stuff was helpful. I don’t know what I would have done if I hadn’t discovered such a subject like this. It’s possible to at this moment look ahead to my future. Thank you so much for your impressive and results-oriented help. I will not hesitate to recommend your web site to any individual who should get guidance on this subject matter.
