Blogging On the Big Screen

Filed as News on April 11, 2008 3:32 pm

Variety magazine is reporting that MGM Studios has purchased a spec script for a motion picture that revolves around the protagonist’s blog. The premise:

“a shy collegian who discovers that life in 1,000 years will be based on his blog.”

The film was written by a guy who wrote several episodes of The King of Queens.

Let’s be honest, while blogging can be a thrilling experience to the writer, can that excitement translate to the silver screen? Heck, Quarterlife tanked on NBC.

Sometimes I wonder if they are simply out of movie ideas. What’s next?

>Podcaster hears the dead when encoding files to MP3s…

>Twitter addiction leads to killing spree…

>Deadly virus spread via meme…

I never though I’d say this: I sorta miss RoboCop.
