Michael Arrington in the Time 100

time100 Michael Arrington in the Time 100Congratulations to Michael Arrington (you know, TechCrunch, yeah?), reaching the Time 100 list of influential people. Heavy stuff for sure, and a blogger on the front if Time Magazine (possibly) is cool, but I’m having a hard time deciding what I think of this. You see, the list is celebs (in the wider sense, not a drunk Britney Spears or a mile high Amy Winehouse) writing about celebs, hidden as inspiration.

Arianna Huffington, of The Huffington Post fame, among other things, is the one who’s written about Michael Arrington, and she’s wrapping it up like this:

Dubbed the Walter Winchell of Silicon Valley and compared by Wired magazine to “a Hollywood agent at a cast party” and to “Tony Soprano—a large man always on the verge of losing his cool,” Arrington is ready to add another rep: cybermogul.

A small box of admiration shared by friends, or a sober list generated outside the parties of The Beautiful People? You be the judge.

Still, I don’t want to take any credit from Michael on this, he’s certainly made an impact and deserves to be on a list like this for sure. So again, congratulations are indeed in order!
