It isn’t your specific blog that is banned. It is usually the category your blog is in, and as you can tell from the article, even my G-rated blog with nary a swear word or controversial subject – it’s boring, really – gets an R-rating because it’s a “blog” not because of the subject matter.

I’m glad you checked the pings at least, but be sure and check the category your blog is in. If it is in the wrong category, get it changed. The more blogs that request a change of category to something better than adult-content, the more legitimacy they might have and the more the categorizing services might re-evaluate how they judge blogs.

I put my blog URL in all three services mentioned near the end of the article (Just Ping, Watch Mouse, and Website Pulse) and came up with interesting results. The first told me 30% of the packets were lost, the second said 10%, and the last said everything went fine. Don’t know what to think about that, though I can’t imagine a small blog like mine would be a much of a threat.

@Four Tier Annihilation: Your site can be banned by Google, Yahoo, or any service. There are many articles about that issue, which happen because your site has violated their terms of service, often reported by someone. This is a different subject. It is about being banned or blocked from access by a specific group. Your site can still be indexed by search engines, but those behind those firewalls might not be able to view your site.

It is nottotally clear to me what and who will ban a blog for who. With other words, let´s say my blog gets banned. Will it get banned by Google? Or, by Yahoo? Or will it whiped off the whole www? Interesting to find out.
