Hello Magazine gives readers blogging opportunity

Celebrity-watching Hello Magazine Online is giving readers the opportunity to blog for the magazine.

Anyone who is “articulate, opinionated and itching to share [their] thoughts about the lives of the rich and famous” can apply to become an official hellomagazine.com blogger.

In an interview with the Online Journalism Blog, Online Marketing Manager David Witcomb talked about the details.

Hello’s sister site hola.com already runs reader blogs, with some positive feedback from users. Hello wants to allow some of its readers to get more involved in the brand rather than simply finding a way of commercialising the venture — at least, that’s the public statement.

Witcomb also suggests that the magazine is exploring other ideas for UGC and online community.
