One more thing I’d like to add, is that whenever some people start understanding this topic and so are not seeing improvements, they start to quit. This is not how it should be. Even if you’re not getting positive results at first, keep it up during few months till you locate good authority web-sites like this where you can get enough ideas that could hadly be identified even in the most expensive e-books.

naturally like your website but you need to check the spelling on quite a few of your posts. A number of them are rife with spelling problems and I find it very troublesome to tell the truth nevertheless I will surely come back again.

Smugmug is the way I went when I discovered there was no stopping someone from stealing my photos as their own off Flickr. While it can be a little pricey (basic membership is now $40US), you can get your first year for cheaper than a Flickr pro account.

All you have to do is enter the promo code YAHOO (1/2 price on all levels of subscriptions for the first year) and referral code: XYIzvlyAxTPgo (saves you another $5). So $40/2 - 5 = $15.

In that light you can see it's pretty cheap to check it out. (Actually I think you can get a 14 day trial for free first).

Your photos are safe, the galleries look amazing, and if you put some effort in, the customization options are pretty incredible too.

You can take a look at my page: craigmaunder.smugmug.com as an example of what you can get immediately upon signing up. And http://www.wolfsnap.com/gallery/4650775_dNFKq is a very good example of what you can do to customize things (it's not that hard to do though... don't sign up for the service provided there).

Great post. I've actually been using a wordpress plug in that finds creative commons photo's automatically on Flickr and allows me to post with no issues really.

I actually had made the mistake of using some flickr photo's that I wasn't aware of that were "stripped" like you mentioned and I got a few nasty emails from the owners. EEK.

Since I got the plug in no problems. However I'm glad to see there are a few more alternatives. Thank you!

Linda: Sued, not to my knowledge but I could be wrong. I don't hear about every case. But many have been threatened with legal action and paid money to prevent lawsuits. It is actually very rare for cases to result in a lawsuit and even more rare for a lawsuit to go all the way to a judgment. Less than 1% of all cases involving a legal dispute of any variety result in a suit and only a fraction of those go all the way.

Chris: Thanks for the tip!

Another alternative in which the content producer/ photographer owns their content is Kadoo.com.

Every user gets 10 FREE Gigs of storage space to manage, store and selectively share all their Photos, Files, original format and streaming Videos.

The original content format is always preserved -- so no degradation of the Photo size or format --- and more importantly no requirement to print a photo every 60 days, etc...or lose your content.

On top of that each user gets a full Portal, a full email account (if they desire) as well as the ability to publish their content to any of 40 existing Social Network Communities - all from just 1 place. Kadoo. If you need more space, you can purchase 1TB for $4.99 a month and you can print your photos from Kadoo as well.
