There are still those myspace criminal stories we get every couple months but the fact is millions have opened their lives to the net through facebook etc. People trust they are reasonably protected or at least that their privacy is respected. If you take reasonable precautions and update yourself on digital security issues like with <a href="http://www.justaskgemalto.com/" rel="nofollow">This</a> site you'll probably be fine.
