Loyal Jet Blue fliers will be thrilled at the news that the discount commercial air liner is now flying to Los Angeles from New York and Boston.
In order to generate buzz for the new flight path, JetBlue recruited “Internet celebrities” to take the inaugural flight. In return for the trip, bloggers, HowCast video producers and YouTube celebs are asked to give Jet Blue a friendly “shout out.” We certainly hope that each passenger offers full disclosure.
BetaBlue, JetBlue’s plane that features wireless Internet access (alongwith complimentary in-flight e-mail and instant messaging services) was used for the LA-bound flight.
After several recent media stumbles and increasing competition, JetBlue is hoping the Web will help generate some cost-effective buzz.
Luckily for all parties, the plane landed safely without any major snags. I’m sure JetBlue took every precaution to make sure they had enough Terra Blues to go around.
