And likewise this would have generated around 1000 comments in the old days too. Looks like 9rules has died and its ghost was sold to SplashPress

I think it's more likely it's because nobody cares about 9rules anymore. All of b5's, gawker's, sugar's moves still get covered. As do shiny's, for that matter, and they're just in the UK.

I mean, there's really no such thing as a "blog network" anymore, that matters, cause all of the big players have moved onto different models.

Darren, maybe it's because no one cares about blog networks anymore, at least not the same way we did back then.
The internet, especially the blogging scene has grown lots and almost has become too big to focus on just two players. Especially because the foot in mouth mentality seems to have disappeared. Have we grown up?

It is a bizarre thing - both the match between SP and 9R (a real 'odd couple) but also the lack of buzz about this story considering everything any blog network did used to cause massive news. I still remember the days when any 9rules or b5media development would be blogged about on many blogs - yet this news gets blogged about on a couple of Splashpress blogs and 9rules blog (which oddly isn't allowing comments).

The world has changed :-)

I had to sit down to read this. I'm in shock it's like a full circle whirlwind apocalypse. I think the internet just died.

SplashPress or myself or both of us has literally owned every site Scrivs has ever thought of creating, or created. Ok not really but it seems like we are all related now. Seriously the blogosphere is like the Appalachian Hills.

Glad I quit blogging a long arse timing ago and have gone on to sitting on a mole hill staring at stars.
