Who Invented Blogging?

Al Gore might think that he invented the Internet, but was he also responsible for creating blogging? (The answer, of course, is no.)

It’s a question I have never considered: Who did invent blogging?

A new book, “Say Everything: How Blogging Began, What It’s Becoming, And Why It Matters,” by Scott Rosenberg, a co-founder of Salon.com, explores that question. And the answer may surprise you.

Since the medium evolved, there is no inventor, no first blog, and no one who can pound their chest and take credit for the communication medium.
