Pinterest Adds Website Verification

Want to know more about exactly who you are following? Pinterest on Thursday rolled out website verification to profile pages.

The system also allows users to highlight their own website on their profile.

Pinterest plans to add the feature to pages across the site in the near future, allowing for more verification and by its very nature more transparency.

In a statement regarding the feature Pinterest officials proclaimed:

?We?ll be rolling out these features on the web this week, so it?s possible you won?t see the verify website option in your settings immediately.”

Verifying a website involves simply going to the users settings page and then clicking on “Verify Website.”

?When your website is verified, people will see a checkmark next to your domain in search results. They will also see the full website URL and checkmark on your profile.?

Only major top-level domains including .com, .biz and .info are currently being supported for the immediate future.
