According to comScore supplied data the Facebook app also managed to win in terms of time users spent using its mobile apps. According to the report 23 percent of a mobile users time was spent on Facebook.
Facebook has long been a favorite app in terms of engagement and 2012 was no different.
While Mark Zuckerberg and team led the mobile download sector, Google still scored five out of the six most downloaded apps thanks to Google Maps, Google Play, app hub for Android, Google Search, Gmail and YouTube.
Google and Facebook combined account for 33% of all time spent on mobile apps in the United States.
With more than 400 million people now using Facebook for mobile and more than 1 billion users worldwide we can likely expect similar dominance from the social network in 2013.
