Continuing their quest for mobile domination, Automattic (the company behind WordPress) has announced that Nokia lovers can now download the official WordPress app from the Ovi store.
Headsup to all our new WordPress for Nokia users: The app is now available on the Ovi store[.] [...]
Please note however, that the app is not yet compatible with Symbian3 devices such as N8, C6, C7 and more. We’re working with Nokia to get the app approved for these as well. Please report any issues you find with the app here. (WordPress for Nokia Blog)
Note: Emphasis theirs.
Just like their smartphone brethren, the WordPress for Nokia app supports image and video uploading, as well as the ability to moderate comments while on the go.
On a humorous note, WordPress of Nokia is ironically more advanced than WordPress for iOS, as the latter still lacks text formatting (i.e. bold, italicize, blockquotes, etc.) as well as support for WP.com stats (two features that both WP for Blackberry and Android have boasted for quite some time).
With the WordPress for Nokia app now live upon the Ovi store, we may Automattic begin to focus their efforts of launching official apps upon Windows Phone 7 as well as the Palm Pre.

WordPress (who previously launched a Nokia app in February) could be pondering a new UI for Nokia users (at least for those sporting the N900 smart phone).
I’ve been doing graphic design for the client for a few days now, and I’d like to show you something.
You already saw some early drafts for N900. Here are drafts for two views on Symbian touch. What do you think? (Nokia for WordPress Blog)
Thus far these are nothing more than photo shop mock-ups, although the layout does look rather impressive compared against the bland white background that is a standard for WordPress mobile apps.
Unlike most of their rivals, WordPress heavily embraces mobile devices, having previously launched official apps upon the iPhone, Blackberry and Android phones, as well as releasing an iPad app for bloggers on the go.
WordPress has not announced plans on whether they will embrace the blue redesign for Nokia smart phones (or choose another option instead), although redesigning the Nokia app could help WordPress conquer the mobile realm (as well as replace Blogger as the dominant blogging platform).

At its annual conference, Nokia has announced a new feature that will be added to its Ovi platform next month and showcased on the new N97 mini mobile handset.
Nokia claims that “Lifecasting with Ovi” is the first service that allows users to update their Facebook status directly from the home screen of their cellphone.
Don’t get too excited — this isn’t 24/7 lifecasting allowing you to strap the phone to your head and broadcast everything you’re doing in realtime video. In reality, it’s simply making it easier to update your Facebook status while on the move.
Nokia NSeries’ VP, Jonas Geust, said, “People want to bring their physical and online worlds together via the internet. The Nokia N97 mini is designed for this new social internet and to help navigate people and places. With lifecasting, the Nokia N97 mini and Ovi usher in the next chapter of personal and location-aware internet.” read more
