Google has been working endlessly to integrate Gmail into the realm of social media, for example users can now more easily connect their Gmail accounts to Google+. On Friday the company announced the acquisition of Mac OS X and iPhone social media startup Sparrow.
Sparrow created inboxes look more like Twitter feeds than email inboxes, using truncated messages that look like text messages more than full emails.
The startups messages then connect with Facebook which allows a sender’s picture to pop up with their messages while still retaining the feel of a private email inbox. read more
