In five years only Deborah Ng has grown The Freelance Writing Jobs Network from scratch to one of the most important and powerful communities for freelance online authors. Deborah, @Debng, announced today that Splashpress Media, owner of this publication as well, has acquired The Freelance Writing Jobs Network.
As Splashpress Media CEO I feel honoured that we will be able to follow in Deb’s footsteps and nobody else than Susan Gunelius will lead FWJ as Managing Editor. Splashpress Media is happy to have been chosen from the pool of bidders and will continue the site in the same spirit and with the same values Deb has built the site on:
Why Splashpress Media?
When I decided to sell FWJ I received a half dozen offers and the one from Splashpress Media wasn’t the highest. However, in selling I had three concerns and Splashpress was the only potential buyer who addressed these three concerns and promised FWJ wouldn’t languish or lose the message and image we worked so hard to maintain throughout the past five years.

Paul Scrivens announced today at the 9rules blog that Tyme White, Mike Rundle and himself, AKA The Triad, have sold 9rules to Splashpress Media, who also run The Blog Herald.
According to the about page 9rules is a collection of blogs, showcasing the best content of the Independent web. 9rules was created in 2003, around 9 rules:
- Love what you do.
- Never stop learning.
- Form works with function.
- Simple is beautiful.
- Work hard, play hard.
- You get what you pay for.
- When you talk, we listen.
- Must constantly improve.
- Respect your inspiration.
You can read why The Triad decided to sell over at the 9rules blog. The Splashpress Media team looks forward to contribute to and work with the 9rules community.
Splashpress Media wishes @tyme, @mike9r and @scrivs the best and all luck with their next ventures.
Last but not least, if you want to send @scrivs the bottle of alcohol he invites you to in the last paragraph, but don’t want to create additional import fees because you’re UK based… feel free to send me that bottle. ;)
