The LAPD Blog, hosted over at Typepad, appears to be achieving its goal of improving communication between police and the citizens of LA.

Just take a look at this entry, which shows a debate in the comments between several citizens, anonymous officers, and the Deputy Chief of the Department.

  • Wow — that’s just fabulous. You would think that an organization like the LAPD would shy away from controversy, but instead, they’ve embraced it.

    And by doing so, they gain a measure of control and respect from their constituents.
