Student Artistry Displayed at Virginia Museum

The Wm. King Museum of Art in Abingdon, Virginia is currently exhibiting “Type + Image + Motion,” a collection of artwork from Milligan University students.

This display, featuring digital designs, three-dimensional sculptures, interactive installations, and video pieces, illustrates the evolving creativity of emerging artists.

The exhibit not only highlights the students’ technical skills but also captures their artistic vision in a visually compelling manner.

Open until the end of the month, the exhibition welcomes public visitation and the appreciation of this unique collection.

Housed in the museum’s Art Lab division, the exhibition will be available until November 13th.

Visitors can witness this contemporary art collection with daily guided tours, offering unique insights into artists’ backgrounds and the significance of their works.

Associate Professor of Graphic Design at Milligan, Art Brown, spoke highly of his students’ work and praised their innovative designs.

He viewed the exhibition in the Art Lab of the Wm. King Museum as a testament to the students’ creativity and readiness for the professional world.

He also noted Milligan University’s programs’ growing reputation in training excellent design professionals.

Out of the showcased artwork, 20 pieces were selected, representing a range of coursework.

Pieces include typography, digital illustration, and interactive media design, carefully chosen by university professors.

This exhibition proves the depth of talent and broad study areas among Milligan’s student body.

The featured artists comprise senior and junior students, 2023 graduate Ellie Ayers, and 2024 graduates Judah Cooper, Brianna Marsh, and Emanuel Mogaya.

This talented lot presents a wide variety of work, from abstract to realism, reflecting the diversity of talent among them.

Each artist presents their unique talent, ranging from detailed portraiture to exploring cultural roots with traditional techniques.

The exhibition is located in the multifunctional Art Lab at the Wm. King Museum, which serves as a meeting place, an educational center, and a studio.
