The sickest blog posting ever

Filed as General with Comments Off

by

The Blog Herald has come across what is arguably the sickest blog posting ever, if it is true. And if it is not true, the imagination of those who wrote it is seriously warped. Be warned though: this is not for the squeamish. Please feel free to share your thoughts here on the quality (or lack there of) of this article

Battle of the blog | CNET News.com

So it should come as little surprise that a technology behind blogs–online chronicles of personal, creative and organizational life–has manifested the kind of bitter fight for control that is inevitable in any truly democratic institution.

The day the blogging died continues

Christian Crumlish from Radio Free Blogistan has added 3 extra verses to the excellent The Day the Blogging Died, increasing the opportunity for a signing blogger to win the $20 USD prize on offer in the First Blog Herald Challenge. Be sure to check out the rest of the lyrics at his site and contribute suggestions for new verses. Christian has also been nice enough to say some nice things about the Blog Herald and for this we are grateful. Perhaps a new movement in Blog song writing maybe born;
“Bloggers are the hierophants of an unapprehended inspiration; the mirrors of the gigantic shadows which futurity casts upon the present”
with apologies to Percy Bysshe Shelley (1792–1822)

The First Blog Herald Challenge

Perhaps we have more money then sense. Well we wish we did. However The Blog Herald has been inspired by Radio Free Blogistan to launch the first ever (and maybe even the last ever) Blog Herald Challenge. The first Blogger or web surfer to submit a reasonably sung version of “The Day the Blogging Died” by Christian Crumlish with appropriate background instrumentals (perhaps karaoke to Don McLean’s original), and who release it to the Blog Herald for promotion will receive a $20 USD direct donation. $20 USD may not sound much but it is just over $30 Australian Dollars ($40 AUD not that long ago), which is more than we pay for our hosting for the quarter. A quick $20. For the words and conditions read as follows:

Being an avid reader of all things Movable Type/ TypePad and Six Apart, I have also been a regular reader of the blog of Anil Dash, long term blogger and recent Six Apart employee. Perhaps its the Pinky/ purpley colour on Anils website that led me astray. For a long time I always thought that Anil Dash was a shiela, and then I saw the pictures on Mena Trotts TypePad Blog.

Kaye Rulz takes a new look at Blog Ethics from the perspective of research:
“n the case of blog researchers, Kris Cohen talked about the moment when the blog & research collide. Many times after he conducts with an interview with a blogger he has been following, he — the sociologist & interview experience — will be blogged.”
