New reports out of Japan indicate that the number of blogs in Japan has now surpassed 1 million.

According to quotes from Netratings Japan in the Asahi Newspaper, 15 million Japanese have commented on a blog and 14.95 million Japanese internet users on the 14 largest ISP’s in the country have accessed a blog, around 40% of all Japanese internet users.

The same report also quotes Junya Kondo of blog provider Hatena Co stating that they were currently signing up 10,000 new bloggers a month.
