Did You Read The Article?

I got an email from a friend who thinks he has figured out why so many of the articles we think should be circulated widely through socially driven news, articles written by people who have legitimately interesting insight to offer, are often simply dismissed as irrelevant or frivolous.

This problem is not limited to any one social bookmarking site, and the question content producers must ultimately ask themselves is: How many users actually follow a link and read an article before they vote for or against it, or comment on it?
