Myspace successfully used for beefing British manager game
Sports Interactive is a British company that develops manager games. They’€™re most known for their Football Manager series (yes, real football, i.e. soccer) and are currently gearing up for the release of Football Manager 2007 this Christmas. Sega is publishing, so we’€™ll see traditional marketing in terms of print and web ads. Of course.
But Sports Interactive has also experimented with Myspace and launched a blog there. Now they can lean back on being the 21st most popular blog across the Myspace network as of Thursday 14th September according to the press release. On their blog they post developer diaries, talks about what’€™s hot in FM2007 and so on.
It’€™s all PR of course, but it’€™s a great example of how blogs in general and especially Myspace is a marketing way in itself. 15,000 views on the seventh developer post sure speaks for itself.
