American Television network ABC has gotten it really wrong on blog numbers, with their report on Dave Sifry’s latest state of the blogosphere stating that there are now 27.2 million blogs on the Internet, only problem, Dave Sifry didn’t say this, he said that they TRACK 27.2 million blogs. Given that I’ve just read in the Toronto Star that there are now nearly 50 million users of MySpace, a social networking and blogging service Technorati doesn’t track, and to be fair the Toronto Star would be a relatively accurate MSM source for quoting, the ABC (and some others as well I’d note) have gotten it totally wrong yet again. Lazy reporting from Lazy reporters….what more can I say.
Update: should have pointed to this article a NMK as well. They’re so lazy they’ve used 12 month old figures from Technorati :-)
