WeatherBug Launches Network of “Backyard Citizen Weather Reporters”

Weather information services provider WeatherBug has announced the formation of a nationwide network of “weather reporters” who will collect, report and share weather information from their own WeatherBug Backyard Tracking Stations. The WeatherBug Backyard Network is open to all current and future owners of the consumer-grade WeatherBug Backyard Tracking Stations.

WeatherBug Backyard Tracking Stations empower weather enthusiasts to get their name on the map and have their tracking stations’ data seen by millions of users via the WeatherBug application. As part of this program, a blog entitled the WeatherBug Backyard Club has been launched. This blog offers WeatherBug Backyard Tracking Station owners a unique community within which to share their love of weather and interact with fellow weather enthusiasts. In addition, they can register to become Backyard Weather Reporters. These individuals will blog and post photos on weather in their area during times of severe weather, as well as for everyday outdoor activities, such as gardening, exercise, boating and more.
